Frequently Asked Questions
Are the results permanent?
Yes, the results of subcision are permanent.
How many sessions are needed?
Visible improvement is usually seen after a single session, however, we recommend 3-5 sessions for continued and more significant improvement. We also recommend combining subcision with other treatments such as fractional CO2 laser, rejuran S, rejuran healer, skinboosters and collagen stimulating fillers.
Is it painful? And is there downtime?
First, topical numbing cream is applied to the area. After that, Dr Samantha will infiltrate local anaesthesia to the treatment areas so that there is minimal to no discomfort during the subcision process.
After subcision, there may be mild bruising, discomfort and swelling which usually resolves in a fe days. Analgesia and topical antibiotic/anti-bruising creams are helpful during this period.
