Leading a busy work and family life, I often forget to take care of my own wellbeing. When I finally do carve out some me-time, there’s nothing I love more than a facial. So, when the opportunity came up to try ProFacial and RF LiftTighten treatments at the new Nexus Aesthetic Clinic in Orchard, I jumped at the chance. Here’s what I thought of the experience.
Pampered to Perfection!
Dr. Samantha Tay opened her aesthetics clinic in November last year. When I walked through the door, I was immediately impressed by her youthful glow and the beautiful, chic interiors. Greeted warmly by the receptionist, I was offered a cup of calming chrysanthemum tea. Within minutes, I was ushered into a small side room to fill out a quick form, then put to work for laptop charging. This space has been designed especially for clients to work in while waiting for numbing cream to kick in pre-treatment or for those wanting some privacy. It’s also a great spot to shut the door and have a confidential chat with Dr. Samantha.
More Than Just a Clinic for a Facial
Speaking of chats, before hitting the treatment room, I took a tour of the clinic and found out more about the lovely Dr. Samantha. She started out as a hospital surgeon, but after suffering herself for years with acne and sensitive skin, she decided to use her own training to address these issues. Nine months later, her research and development resulted in her own all-natural, paraben and sulphate-free skincare line. Samantha judges herself by her youthful glowing skin and the fact that she doesn’t wear makeup. I’d say she’s made it.
Dr. Samantha offers a wide range of holistic aesthetic treatments including her bespoke highly-refined ultrasound (HIFU), botox fillers, and Profacial, as well as pampering medical spa treatments, anti-aging and grade facials, radiofrequency lifting and tightening of the face, all with the convenience of home. Her mantra is simple, “When you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, good things happen.”
Let the Pampering Begin!
ProFacial treatments made an instant sense of calm wash over me: after cleansing, toning, and autumn wash and hydration, I slipped on soft, springy white linens and fluffy slippers in pristine. Sinking into the bed, an uplifting herbal citrus scent set the tone. I was given a heated pillow, soft fluffy blanket and eye mask, and an HIFU machine treatment using the microdermabrasion facial system: diamond microdermabrasion, hydrafacial infusion, skin tightening, and light extraction. I was having the most luxurious oxygenation while Sabrina pressed Pro-Lite therapy serum and brightening solution into the skin using ultrasonic spatula for an affordable price for those who are in a rush or on a tight budget.
Michelle double cleansed me with an alpha-hydroxy acid solution. Neat, and non-hydroxy acid. A warm hot mask dissolved keratin and gently lifted the impurities, working on blackheads. This is when she used the spicule for extractions. Sabrina concluded my ProFacial treatment with the Facial machine, ultrasound infusion, red light therapy, and infused creams leaving the skin plump and glowing.
Heading Home, Feeling Refreshed
It was nice to see how happy it made Dr. Samantha that I enjoyed my treatment. I got the impression that she genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her clients. Leaving the clinic, I felt refreshed, and my skin was nourished, plump, and glowing. My face did feel a little hot for an hour afterwards, but I was not sure if that was the effect of the radiofrequency or the Singapore heat.
