RESEARCHING COLLAGEN STIMULATORS? START HERE.

Sculptra not for you? See the collagen stimulators Dr Sam actually uses.

Twenty minutes with Dr Sam first. She reads your skin assessment then picks between the two collagen-stimulator categories Nexus uses: hyaluronic acid bioremodellers like Profhilo and SkinViv, or polynucleotides like Rejuran and Nucleofill. Most patients see early surface change in two to eight weeks, with response continuing across the course. Individual results vary.

The three categories at a glance
Hyaluronic acid bioremodeller mechanism illustration

HA bioremodellers

Hyaluronic acid placed at the dermal layer to hydrate and promote a conservative collagen response. Profhilo, Juvederm SkinViv, Teosyal Redensity 1, Filorga NCTF 135 HA, K-Glass. Enzyme-reversible at the dermal layer.

Polynucleotide dermal repair mechanism illustration

Polynucleotides

Nucleotide-based formulations that support dermal repair. Rejuran and Nucleofill. Reversibility through natural metabolism over time. Different mechanism category from HA bioremodellers.

Microsphere collagen stimulator mechanism illustration

Microsphere stimulators

Inert microspheres that build a dermal framework and promote a longer-course collagen response. Sculptra, Ellanse, Radiesse. Not enzymatically reversible. Not offered at Nexus; offered elsewhere in Singapore.

Which collagen stimulators Nexus offers and which we deliberately do not

Nexus uses two of the three categories of collagen stimulators. The first is the hyaluronic acid bioremodeller path: Profhilo, Juvederm SkinViv, Teosyal Redensity 1, Filorga NCTF 135 HA, and K-Glass. This path is enzyme-reversible at the dermal layer, so response can be adjusted during the course if needed.

The second is the polynucleotide path: Rejuran and Nucleofill. Different mechanism category, reversibility through natural metabolism over time rather than enzyme reversal.

Sculptra, Ellanse, and Radiesse are deliberately not on the menu. These are microsphere-class collagen stimulators offered by other clinics in Singapore. Dr Samantha's clinical-protocol preference is for the two reversible categories above. Patients wanting the microsphere category should look at clinics that have built their protocol around it.

What HA biostimulators add beyond plain hyaluronic acid

Within the HA bioremodeller category, formulations vary across the dermal layer they target. Profhilo uses a stabilised hyaluronic acid formulation. Jalupro adds amino acids and peptides to the HA carrier. Teosyal Redensity 1 includes amino acids, peptides, and minerals. Filorga NCTF 135 HA carries a multi-ingredient mesotherapy compound. K-Glass is a Korean glass-skin protocol. The dermal layer assessment at the consultation decides which formulation fits.

Where to dig deeper on each collagen stimulator path

Patients in their late 20s through 60s with healthy skin barrier and surface dullness, fine lines, or mild dermal dehydration usually fit one of the three paths below. The consultation picks which; the links go to the per-product pricing and protocol pages.

Path 1: HA bioremodeller. Hyaluronidase-reversible. Per-product pacing and pricing lives on the skin booster page.

Path 2: Polynucleotide. Different mechanism category, nucleotide-based. Detailed pacing and pricing on the polynucleotide page.

Path 3 (not offered at Nexus): microsphere stimulator. Patients wanting this category should look at clinics in Singapore that built their protocol around it. For volumetric work in the HA-filler category, see dermal fillers.

Who suits HA biostimulators or polynucleotides

Honest filter before the consultation. If you fit, the next step is a 20-minute assessment with Dr Samantha. If you don't, she will say so and route accordingly.

Suitable for

Suitable

  • Mild to moderate dermal dehydration, fine lines, or surface dullness
  • Late 20s to 60s with healthy skin barrier
  • Looking for a reversible biostimulator if response is uneven
  • Have tried surface skincare and want a dermal-layer step
  • Comfortable with maintenance pacing over months, not a one-shot fix
Take care

Pause first or route elsewhere

  • Active acne flare, untreated rosacea, or open dermatitis on injection zone
  • Seeking immediate visible volume restoration (HA bioremodellers do not bulk fill)
  • History of HA hypersensitivity or recent enzyme-reversal reaction
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Wanting a long-duration framework volume effect

The 20-minute consultation with Dr Samantha is SGD 80 and fully credited toward any treatment booked.

Sessions and review timeline by collagen stimulator

Each collagen stimulator follows its own session protocol. The numbers below are the standard pacing Dr Sam uses across the HA bioremodeller and polynucleotide categories Nexus offers.

Sessions and review by product
ProductSessionsInterval between sessionsTypical review window
Profhilo (2ml)2 sessions4 weeks apartReassess around month 6
Juvederm SkinViv (1ml)1 sessionTouch-up optional at 4-8 weeksReassess around month 6 to 9
Teosyal Redensity 1 (1ml)2-3 sessions4-6 weeks apartReassess around month 6
Filorga NCTF 135 HA3-4 sessions2-4 weeks apartReassess around month 6
K-Glass Skin3 sessions4 weeks apartReassess around month 6
Nucleofill Strong (1.5ml)3 sessions2-4 weeks apartReassess around month 6

Pacing follows each product's published protocol. Dr Sam reviews response during the course and adjusts where needed. Individual results vary.

What a collagen stimulator session looks like at Nexus

Most HA bioremodeller and polynucleotide sessions at Nexus run 30 to 45 minutes from check-in to walking out. The flow below covers a typical Profhilo session; SkinViv and the polynucleotide path follow a similar arc with different injection patterns.

Profhilo or HA biostimulator session journey
  1. Step 1, 10 min

    Diagnostic and skin map

Dr Sam reviews dermal hydration, surface tone, and prior skin-booster history. Confirms the HA bioremodeller or polynucleotide path is the right next step, or routes elsewhere if not.

  2. Step 2, 5 min

    Numbing cream and skin prep

Topical anaesthetic on the injection grid (BAP-9 pattern for Profhilo, surface microdroplet zones for SkinViv). Skin cleaned with sterile prep.

  3. Step 3, 15-20 min

    Injection

Product placed per the protocol for the chosen collagen stimulator. Fine needle, minimal discomfort, monitored by Dr Sam throughout.

  4. Step 4, 5 min

    Cool down and aftercare brief

Cool compress on injection points. Dr Sam walks through the 48-hour aftercare guidance and when to return for session 2 (Profhilo) or the 4-8 week review (SkinViv).

Total chair time: 35-40 minutes per session. Most patients return to work the same day.

Side effects and recovery for collagen stimulators

Side effects for the HA bioremodeller and polynucleotide categories are typically mild and short-lived. The reversibility of HA at the dermal layer is the key safety differentiator that Dr Sam weighs when picking between paths.

Suitable for

Common (90-95% of patients)

  • Mild redness at injection points for 24 to 48 hours
  • Small bumps or wheals from the product depot, settling over 24 to 72 hours
  • Minor bruising at one or two injection points, resolves within a week
  • Slight tenderness at the injection sites, settles within 24 hours
  • Mild swelling on the day of treatment, resolves overnight
Take care

Rare (under 5%)

  • Hypersensitivity reaction to the HA carrier (managed with antihistamine or enzyme reversal)
  • Persistent nodule at an injection point (rare with HA bioremodellers and polynucleotides)
  • Localised infection at an injection site (managed with antibiotics if it occurs)
  • Vascular event (very rare with dermal-layer biostimulators; more relevant to volumetric filler placement)

Dr Sam reviews complete contraindications at the consultation. Any unexpected swelling, severe pain, or vision change after injection warrants a same-day callback.

Aftercare timeline for collagen stimulators

Aftercare phases
  1. Day 0 to 2

    Settle the injection points

Avoid pressure on the injection zones for 24 hours. No facials, no make-up over injection points for 12 hours. Cool compress for 10 minutes at a time if any tenderness. Skip strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

  2. Day 0 to 7

    Restore the barrier

Sun protection (SPF 50) daily across the treated area. Hyaluronic acid and ceramide moisturiser as the base routine. Avoid retinoids, vitamin C serums, and active exfoliants for 7 days while the dermal layer settles.

  3. Week 1 and beyond

Daily care matters more than any single product

Continue daily SPF and barrier moisturiser. Schedule session 2 at week 4 for Profhilo, or the 4-8 week review for SkinViv. Photo comparison at the review confirms the response Dr Sam is tracking.

Aftercare is the same across HA bioremodellers and polynucleotides. Specific timing differs by product; the consultation covers the right pacing for your course.
