Discovery Pico Laser

Discovery Pico is the 1st ‘second generation’ picosecond Nd:Yag laser. It is the most powerful medical laser technology that generates a photoacoustic effect to break down the pigmentation on our face and body, generating less heat around the surrounding tissues than the older generation nanosecond lasers, hence resulting in a lower risk of PIH (hyper/hypopigmentation) and less sessions are needed to achieve results.

How long does the procedure take?

Pico Glow is laser toning and this does not require the application of numbing cream and hence after cleansing, we can proceed with the laser which will take about 10 minutes.

Pico Resurfacing involves more change of handpieces and lens than Pico Glow and patients are advised to have numbing cream prior to the laser procedure. Numbing is usually applied for 15 minutes, thereafter, we can proceed with the laser which will take about 15 minutes.

Pico Complete is a further upgrade from Pico Resurfacing mode and has additional benefits such as skin tightening. Numbing cream is also advised for this, similar to Pico Resurfacing. Pico Complete takes about 20 minutes.

Is there downtime?

Pico Glow has no downtime and is ideal for those who prefer no downtime or those who have same-day events/parties to attend.

Pico Resurfacing and Pico Complete both have downtime and can last anywhere from 1-7 days, depending on products used after as well as individual healing and recovery ability.
